On Saturday, December 9, the 35th Bienal de São Paulo will host the Bienal education team’s Conversation on Effective Alliances between Forest and Asphalt, at the Ocupação 9 de Julho – MSTC Kitchen.
How the traditional Guarani Mbya culture is dealing with climate crises and consumer culture clashes in their territories, facing nutricide, induced consumption and ecocide, and how alliances with other cultures can help build new paths.
Jera Guarani, leader of the Kalipety village in the T.I. Tenonde Porã. Graduated from USP in Pedagogy, she works as an Environmental Agent, promoting the recovery of traditional seeds from degraded areas. She is the author of the book NÓS, published by Editora Elefantinha. She reflects deeply on her culture in her political work with women.
Raquel Blaque collects and maps food at open-air markets and distributes it at community meetings. Responsible for Casa Amarela de Cultura Coletiva, waste manager and creator of @CreativeCommes.
Daniel dos Santos, visual artist, resident of the village Tekoa Pindo Mirim T.I. Jaraguá since 17/03/2023 (SP), together with leader Neusa de Quadros where he works on agroecological planting, management of springs for ecological sanitation, management and construction of emergency housing.
