In 2020, the São Paulo City Council approved a bill to create the Bixiga Municipal Park, but the project was vetoed by the city council. Three years later, the project to create the Bixiga River Park has returned to the São Paulo City Council and has just been approved in the first vote. Now, the movement in defence of the Bixiga River Park, in defence of ways of existing that re-exist in large urban centres, in defence of human survival, rivers, plants, animals, in confluence with the serious advances of the climate emergency that we are experiencing, must continue its struggle by putting pressure on São Paulo city councillors to approve the project in the second vote and, finally, for the mayor to sanction it.
