On December 9, the peformance Fish Don’t Hold Anyone’s Hand, will take place at 35th Bienal de São Paulo, which integrates DENDORÍ – Series of performances by and with Ricardo Aleixo.

Exactly 30 years ago, Ricardo Aleixo went from investigating poetic performance to fully investing in a “poetics of performance”. What the artist defines as “poetry in a performance situation” refers not only to the passage from the written code to the body/oral code, but to the establishment of a vocographic and bodygraphic game that seeks to relativize the boundaries between arts in favor of a free and unstructured intersymbolic relationship.

While reading – very slowly – the poem O peixe não segura a mão de ninguém, first published in Modelos vivos (2010), Ricardo Aleixo triggers the recording of the family story from which the object Barco acidental emerged, while the video performance made from the recording of the transformation of an old bookcase into a “boat” is shown on the 3 TV sets.

Duration: 50′.
