Sauna Lésbica – Film screening
On November 26, Sunday, Sauna Lésbica’s film screening will take place at the 35th Bienal, featuring the films A felicidade delas (2019), by Carol Rodrigues, Rebu (2020), by Mayara Santana, Neirud (2023), by Fernanda Faya, and Uma paciência selvagem me trouxe até aqui (2021), by Éri Sarmet. After each exhibition, a talk about the movies will be carried out.

A felicidade delas (2019), by Carol Rodrigues – 2 pm
Two young women run away from the police together after a demonstration. Despite the violence, they look for a way to live out their desire.

Rebu (2020), by Mayara Santana – 2:45 pm
First-person documentary that sets out to investigate the most diverse performances of masculinity within the director’s experience as a sapatão based on her latest relationships and interviews with her father. The movie takes a light-hearted approach to themes such as flirtatious talent, flexibility with the truth, abusive relationships, emotional irresponsibility, the reproduction of machismo, impulsiveness and romance.

Neirud (2023), by Fernanda Faya – 3:35 pm
Neirud died without a trace of her past. Confronting family secrets, the filmmaker reconstructs the life of her enigmatic aunt, who was a circus fighter in an underground women’s troupe in the 1960s, and discovers a love story that will transform Neirud’s role in her own family.
