Preta Ferreira, ARTVIST .
Singer, songwriter and performer. She began her professional musical career 10 years ago.
In 2019 she released the song and music video – doc Minha Carne (a song she composed for the film, Para Onde Voam As Feiticeiras and which took her to the professional level recognised by Abramus), with more than 50 women, indigenous and quilombolas, shown on national and international circuits, and with considerable hits on YouTube and Spotify. Preta brings samba jazz with her.
Mixing Brazilian rhythms such as rap, soul, poetry and samba.
SAMBA DA PRETA
A musical salad of rhythms.
She calls herself an ACTIVIST because she uses music as a tool for liberation and racial literacy.
Her compositions talk about anti-racism, Brazilian history.
An indigenous and Quilombola mix.
“Art is the greatest form of liberation and transformation of a people, because art doesn’t see colour or social class, it enters into all leagues. You have to be artistically aware, because art transforms.
You have to know how to use it for good.”
