Roda de samba [samba circle] with Mariana Furquim takes place at Varanda Bienal, outside the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion, on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, from 2 pm to 3 pm and from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Mariana Furquim is a singer, songwriter, singing and music teacher. Born into the musical Ozzetti family, she has been singing since she was a teenager. She has participated in samba circles for over twenty years, having performed alongside great samba singers such as Geovana, Edil Pacheco, Riachão, Martinho da Vila, among others. She began her solo career in 2014 with the EP Mariana Furquim and in 2018 she released the album Princesa de Aiocá, inspired by the sea, which underpins her artistic career. Since the production of the album Princesa de Aiocá, she has been performing concerts and researching the universe of the sea. For the Varanda Bienal project, Mariana has musicians with whom she often performs in samba venues in the city of São Paulo, such as Ó do Borogodó, Funilaria, Bar da Vânia, Escarcéu Bar, Canto Madalena, among others.
