Varanda Bienal – Jazz Manouche, with Bina Coquet

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 2 pm to 3 pm and from 4 pm to 5 pm, the concert Jazz Manouche, presented by Bina Coquet, will take place at the Varanda Bienal, outside the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion.

Bina Coquet is Vinicio Dutra Coquet, a musician born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in São Paulo, who has performed in New York and Europe, playing jazz and Brazilian music. Celebrating 30 years of career, in the last decade he has been performing with his Manouche guitar, either in classics of Brazilian music or in his compositions strolling through samba, bolero, frevo, baião and others with the language of Gypsy jazz.

Bina has worked with big names such as Seu Jorge, Wilson Das Neves, Céu, Dona Inah, Trio Mocotó, among others. His first recording was Som da Demo by Sesc (1995), as Vinicio Bina Quinteto, and during his stay in New York in the mid-2000s he met pianist and organist Ehud Asherie, with whom he has worked until today, releasing two CDs called Bina & Ehud – Samba de Gringo (2005) and Samba de Gringo 2 (2007).
